Import Guide

How to download transaction files from your bank

QFX / OFX
Best

The most reliable format. Contains structured transaction data with dates, amounts, and descriptions in a standardised format. Supported by almost all banks.

CSV

Spreadsheet format that works well but varies by bank. Our smart parser handles most layouts automatically. Download from your bank's transaction or statements page.

PDF (convert first)

Some banks only offer PDF statements. Use a converter to turn them into CSV before importing.

Tips for a smooth import

  • QFX and OFX files are the most reliable โ€” always choose these if available
  • Export directly from your bank's website or app โ€” don't manually edit the file
  • Download one account at a time for clean, accurate data
  • If your bank only offers PDF, use the converter linked above to get a CSV
  • After importing, review your transactions before saving โ€” you can assign accounts and categories in the review step
